WPSU Vote ’08 Candidate Central: Cross Platform Campaign

Fewer than one half of the eligible voters in America exercise their right to vote. I was part of a team that aimed to change that by reinventing local election coverage with a web-centric, digital video driven approach.

The strategy we created accomplished two central goals:

  • In less than 10 minutes, help voters find out who’s on their ballot and what their positions are on the issues that matter, using a virtual ballot and interactive candidate quiz.
  • Give voters a chance to watch  candidates summarize their positions on video, in-depth.

The campaign was a huge hit — setting web traffic records for the station — and informed the choices of thousands of voters.
