FRONTLINE Live Tweeting
developed for FRONTLINE
I was responsible for live tweeting with an in-broadcast hashtag, plus recruitment of a broad range of people to join the discussion for every FRONTLINE film.
Here’s a piece that was written up about the initiative around “Money, Power and Wall St.”
What do the country’s leading financial journalists, a former top economic adviser to President Obama, and the former head of TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) have to say about FRONTLINE’s “Money, Power and Wall St?” A lot, it turns out. A ‘who’s who’ of the financial journalism world—recruited by Online Engagement Coordinator Nathan Tobey—joined in for fascinating discussions about the series on Twitter and in a series of four live chats. Participants included: former Obama economic advisor Austan Goolsbee, former TARP Inspector General Neil Barofsky, The New York Times’ Andrew Ross Sorkin and Charles Duhigg, Financial Times’ Gillian Tett, The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, MIT economist Simon Johnson, and many more. “We had been experimenting with social outreach for some time,” notes Nathan, “but this was unprecedented.”
